Strawberry Festival
Muncy Historical Society Sets Strawberry Festival, Bake Sale
MUNCY -- Celebrate summer in the sweetest way with Muncy Historical Society’s Strawberry Festival and Bake Sale from 2– 6 p.m. Saturday, June 5 on the grounds of the society’s Museum of History, 40 N. Main St.
Each year, towns across the United States host events celebrating the annual harvest of the strawberry. Join Muncy volunteers in the gardens where they will offer light picnic foods, strawberry shortcake and sundaes. Baked goods will be available for sale inside the museum and the society’s gift shop will be open as well. The model canal lock exhibit will be operational and many of the society’s wedding gown collection will be on display.
Proceeds from events like the Festival and Bake Sale benefit the society’s programs and projects, including the Muncy Heritage Park and Nature Trail along the West Branch of the Susquehanna River.
Muncy Historical Society is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization founded in 1936. It focuses on preservation and conservation of the rich history and heritage of Muncy and surrounding communities – its people, businesses, education, arts, traditions and folklore – by sponsoring educational programs and activities, through research and publication of history, and interpretation of the museum’s collection for the community, including schools, colleges, community groups and professional historians.
